It's the end of the month and no sales yet in your online business. You wonder if you should give up and look for a "good, secure job". Maybe you'll never have a profitable online business.
Yes, that's one perspective on your situation. Yes, you've made few sales this month. You are spending more money marketing your business than you've made. You can focus on the negatives.
Or you can agree with Wallace D. Wattles, the author of The Science of Getting Rich. He stated that "To think health when surrounded by the appearances of disease or to think riches when in the midst of the appearances of poverty requires power, but whoever acquires this power becomes a mastermind. That person can conquer fate and can have what he wants."
Yes, you can be a mastermind. Or, you can give up on your dream. Your focus ultimately becomes your reality.
You can focus on your situation, call yourself a failure and forget about your dream. Or you can put your attention on what you are creating.
But how do you do that? How can you focus on your dream in the midst of equipment breakdown and marketing challenges?
Take a break. Get away from your situation. Go for a walk or to the gym. Go to a library or an art gallery. Do something that you enjoy - reading a book or watching a movie.
Tell your like-minded friends or a mentor about your challenges. Ask for their feedback and suggestions on how to handle your critical situation. According to Stephen R. Covey, "It takes humility to seek feedback....wisdom to understand it, analyze it and appropriately act on it."
This may be the time to investigate working with a business coach who will strategize applicable solutions. She / he will help you determine your dreams & mission and develop a specific plan to achieve your desired outcome.
It may also be a good time to read biographies of model entrepreneurs or successful individuals (Oprah Winfrey, Robert Kiyosaki or Mother Theresa). See how they handled challenges. Can you emulate any personality trait? Is that trait relevant to your specific situation?
For example, you may admire Robert Kiyosaki for his boldness. How would a bold entrepreneur handle the challenge that you are experiencing? What would they do?
The solution may not be immediate. It takes time to respond to frank feedback. Take some time to visualize Robert Kiyosaki in your situation. "Visualize the rewards of success."
Close your eyes. Relax and visualize yourself in a calm, peaceful place. Imagine having coffee with Robert Kiyosaki, telling him about your situation. Ask him what he would do if he were in your place.
Now open your eyes. Write down the ideas. Choose one idea and break it into small, manageable steps. Set a deadline for each step. Then take the first step. Take action! You are now moving closer to fulfilling your dream life. Capitalize on your crisis!! Appreciate the journey!!
